Founded in 1957, The Women’s Committee of The Pasadena
Symphony Association is a dedicated group of volunteers who celebrate and
support The Pasadena Symphony through fundraising events. Since 1968, the
Committee’s major effort has been the Holiday Look In home tour, held
annually on the first full weekend of December. Over the past thirty-nine
years, this enormously popular event has become an anticipated community
celebration, offering visitors a chance to view four distinctive homes in
the Pasadena area that are decorated for the holiday season by prominent
floral designers.
Planning has already begun for the 40th
Holiday Look In to be held on December 1 and 2, 2007. The Women’s
Committee is looking forward once again to bringing together people
interested in fine architecture, well-cared for homes, beautifully
decorated interiors, complements of exquisite flower arrangements and
lovingly tended gardens. As in the past several years, a Holiday Boutique
of quality arts and crafts will be featured where complimentary
refreshments will be served.
Our highly successful Holiday Look In was
recently recognized
by the American Symphony Orchestra League as a model fundraiser and was
featured in the ASOL Gold Book.
Of course, the entire event is a celebration
of music! Musicians play in
the homes and at our Boutique.
Proceeds from the Holiday Look In benefit The Pasadena Symphony concerts
and music education programs for children. Over the years our event has
raised over $2.4 million for
The Pasadena Symphony.
The Women’s Committee, an auxiliary of The
Pasadena Symphony Association, meets once a month from October through
May. Musical performances add to the pleasure of the meetings, which are
held in an atmosphere of warmth and friendship. At an annual luncheon, new
members are welcomed. Smaller groups of members meet throughout the year
to organize the Holiday Look In.
