CLEF is designed to enhance a student's appreciation of music and the live concert experience. In order to accomplish this, the CLEF sessions uses age appropriate activities concentrating on various forms of study. Students are assembled into different age groups and in different ways use music as the outlet for their imagination and creativity. CLEF incorporates various themes including Multi-Cultural Awareness in Music to encourage a student's understanding of how diversity is expressed in music. CLEF also focuses on themes like Musical Tales, which gives students the opportunity to identify emotions and moods in music through activities that enhance language, reading and writing skills. The children are also introduced to the live-concert experience by attending one of The Pasadena Symphony's concerts throughout the season.
